This is the second song special of my video blog. The video is a mash-up between my performance at the DLD Party in Munich and footage from my travels to India (Goa, Rishikesh and Delhi.) I am performing the song „Jaanu“ partly in English and partly in Hindi and it is the theme song of this year’s fund-raiser of my Aktion Lebensretter (supporting women and children in the slums of Delhi.)
Das zweite Song Special meines Video-Blogs is ein Mash-Up meines Auftrittes auf der DLD Party in München mit Aufnahmen von meinen Reisen nach Indien (Goa, Rishikesh und Delhi). Der Song „Jaanu“, den ich teils auf Englisch und teils auf Hindi singe, ist der Song der diesjährigen Spendenkampagne meiner Aktion Lebensretter (Unterstützung für Frauen und Kinder in den Slums von Delhi).

This is a V-Blog Special of the DLD Conference in Munich. During the day I was interviewing experts like Paulo Coelho, one of my favorite authors, and Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia, and at night I performed my song „Jaanu“ (a song that I wrote partly in English and partly in Hindi) at the DLD Party. Although I have about another month to go in my old job, you can already see the transition taking place: from researcher to artist. I had a lot of fun at DLD and I really treasure all the great encounters I made.
Dies ist ein V-Blog Special der DLD Conference in München. Tagsüber habe ich Experten wie Paulo Coelho, einen meiner Lieblingsautoren, und Jimmy Wales, den Gründer von Wikipedia, interviewt, und abends habe ich auf der DLD Party meinen Song „Jaanu“, den ich teils auf Englisch und teils auf Hindi geschrieben habe, performt. Obwohl ich noch ungefähr einen Monat in meinem alten Job arbeiten werde, kann man bereits den Übergang wahrnehmen: von der Forscherin zur Künstlerin. I hatte eine Menge Spaß beim DLD und freue mich wirklich sehr über all die tollen Menschen, die ich dort kennengerlernt habe.

The third edition of my video blog was shot at the Stage Club in Hamburg where the VERENICE & FRIENDS CHARITY SHOW will take place on February 15th for the benefit of my fund-raiser. I can’t wait to be on stage for a whole concert with an awesome band again. There will also be special perfomances by Indian dancer Abirami Ponnudurai and Songwriter Johnny California. After the concert, an aftershow party will take place where one of the most booked DJs in Europe Special D. will spin the turntables. The show starts at 08:30 pm. The admission is free and starts at 08:00 pm. We’ll ask for a donation for Aktion Lebensretter, that supports women and children in the slums of Delhi, instead. Furthermore, there will be several surprises waiting for you! In my video blog, I am asking people to send a recipe for an Indian cocktail to verenice@verenice.com. The winning cocktail will be awarded, mixed and offered at a lower cost at the concert.
Folge 3 meines Video-Blogs wurde im Stage Club in Hamburg gefilmt, wo am 15. Februar die VERENICE & FRIENDS CHARITY SHOW zugunsten meiner Spendenaktion stattfinden wird. Ich werde dort endlich mal wieder für ein ganzes Konzert mit super Begleitband auf der Bühne stehen. Als Special Acts werde ich die indische Tänzerin Abirami Ponnudurai und den Songwriter Johnny California begrüßen. Im Anschluss an das Konzert findet eine After-Show Party mit einem der meistgebuchten DJ Europas Special D. statt. Die Show beginnt um 20:30 Uhr, Einlass ist ab 20 Uhr. Der Eintritt ist frei. Stattdessen wird um eine Spende für die Aktion Lebensretter, die Frauen und Kinder in den Slums von Delhi unterstützt, gebeten. Zudem warten einige tolle Überraschungen auf die Gäste. In meinem Video-Blog starte ich einen Aufruf für ein indisches Cocktail-Rezept. Das Gewinner-Rezept wird auf dem Konzert prämiert, nachgemixt und zu einem reduzierten Preis angeboten werden. Since my studies in New Delhi, I have been supporting children and women in the slums of the Indian capital with my charity campaign Aktion Lebensretter which means „Lifesaver.“ This year’s donations go to the Kamala Center for Women and Children in one of the poorest areas of Delhi where a lot of children cannot go to school. The center is the last resort for abused mothers with their children, training center for local youths and women, a nursery school and a primary school. Even renowned DJs were enthused about the charity project and auctioned themselves off on eBay for this good cause.
Seit meinem Auslandsstudium in Neu Delhi unterstütze ich Kinder und Frauen in den Slums der indischen Hauptstadt mit meiner Aktion Lebensretter. Dieses Jahr gehen alle Spenden an das Kamala Center for Women and Children in einer der ärmsten Gegenden Delhis, wo viele Kinder nicht zur Schule gehen können. Das Zentrum ist Zufluchtsort für missbrauchte Mütter mit ihren Kindern, Ausbildungsstätte für die Jugendlichen und Frauen der Umgebung und betreibt einen Kindergarten sowie eine Grundschule. Auch namhafte DJs waren von der Aktion begeistert und ließen sich bereits auf eBay für den guten Zweck versteigern.
